Diego

Diego is a chef from Colombia who believes in food that is whole, healthy and made from scratch. He builds upon the flavors and traditions of his native lands, from the Andes mountains to the Caribbean sea, to craft simple, modern meals that marry his past with his present.

Diego’s spark for cooking came early in life and was influenced by his formative years in Bogotá’s art scene, where he began to see food, too, as art. As a young boy, he made and sold chocolates to neighbors in his high-rise apartment building; later, as a young man, he founded a delivery-only sourdough bakery, long before it was trendy. When he arrived in buffalo a decade ago, Diego jumped into the local food scene with one of the region’s first food trucks, the whole hog. He has since refined his skills in kitchens across the city and the country.

In 2021, having returned to buffalo, Diego launched Breva Kitchen with his wife, Anna. Breva Kitchen specializes in community-forward pop ups, catering and personal chef services. We aim to nourish bodies and minds while creating meaningful moments over a shared table. And, we firmly believe that food that feels good, fuels good work.
